One of the most popular faces in Nigerian entertainment and one half of the Primetime Entertainment duo, Chief Adedayo Adeneye popularly called D1 has been nominated as a commissioner in Ogun State.
Adeneye who contested but lost the APC primaries in his Odogbolu Constituency was named along with four others on the new list of Commissioners sent to the Ogun State Speaker, Mr Suraj Adekunbi by Governor Ibikunle Amosun.
Apart from Adeneye (who helped the APC win in the area after so many years), the other nominees are: Babajide Odubanjo, Adewale Osinowo, Mrs Adenrele Adesina and Mrs Modupe Njota.
The speaker also said that a seven-man committee led by the Deputy Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo had been inaugurated by the House to screen the new commissioner nominees on Friday.
Each of the nominees is expected to come to the House of Assembly with 30 copies of their resume and original certificates tomorrow for screening. The Assembly had on October 8, screened and confirmed 18 commissioner-nominees sent by the governor.
Those already confirmed as commissioners include Jide Ojuko, Sunday Bamiwola, Dr Babatunde Ipaye, Bolaji Oyeleye, Leke Adewolu, Afolabi Afuwape, Gbenga Ademosun, Kolawole Lawal, Segun Abiodun and Olumide Ayeni.
Others are Bimbo Ashiru, Rotimi Durojaiye, Adebola Adeife , Adenike Osoba, Ronke Sokefun, Muyiwa Oladipo, Olamilekan Adegbite Andrew and Amusan. About six of the commissioners, who worked with the governor in his first tenure, also made the list.
