Raising more than $1 million for her presidential election campaign in one night, Hillary Clinton was greeted Wednesday evening by a star-studded crowd at a Beverly Hills fundraiser hosted by pop star Christina Aguilera and her fiancé, producer Matthew Rutler.

Katie Holmes, Muse singer Matthew Bellamy and former 4 Non Blondes singer Linda Perry (who wrote Aguilera’s hit song “Beautiful”) were among the celebs who mingled with Clinton on her fifth fundraising trip to Los Angeles. Also spotted in the crowd: Gangster Squad actress Ambyr Childers and her husband, Lone Survivor producer Randall Emmett, singer/actress Christina Milian and legendary music exec Irving Azoff.

Clinton opened her remarks by telling the crowd that she is inspired by Aguilera’s song “Fighter” and plans to fight for “everyday Americans.”

She also told the gathering that the Republicans are “persistent” and it’s important for Democrats to be “vigilant and active” on key issues, such as voter rights, women’s rights, gay rights and immigration reform. She joked about how she mailed all the Republican candidates a copy of her latest book. “There are so many of them, they could form a book club,” Clinton said.

Clinton also vowed to fight for tougher gun control laws, prompting a rousing applause from the crowd.

The evening, which was co-hosted by CAA agents and Clinton bundlers Darnell Strom and Michael Kives, also included a mini-concert with performances by Aguilera, indie singer-songwriter Patrick Joseph, A Great Big World and Perry (who teamed up with Aguilera to sing “Beautiful”).

On Thursday morning, Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele, will host Clinton at a breakfast gathering at their Brentwood home, with tickets to the sold-out event ranging from $500 to $2,700 each. Those raising $27,000 for the campaign will be able to mingle with Clinton at a special host reception at the Reiner compound.

After the Reiner event, Clinton will attend a fundraiser hosted by UCLA School of Medicine professor Cynthia Telles and her husband, NBCUniversal executive Joe Waz.

While in L.A., Clinton is also set to tape an appearance for Jimmy Kimmel Live at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood. The segment will air Thursday evening.

On Friday, Clinton’s campaign manager Robby Mook will be in L.A. for the $250-per-person fundraiser, co-hosted by Zach Braff and Kate Hudson at Kives’ home.
