The senator representing Ondo North, Prof. Ajayi Boroffice recently embarked on state-wide tour of the 18 local government areas in Ondo State. Subsequently, he declared that his on-the-spot assessment has revealed that vast majority of people are tired of the Peoples Democratic Party-led government in the state.
The state-wide tour is essentially hinged on consultation with party stakeholders, enlightenment of party members and genuine step towards promoting peace and unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC) family in Ondo State.
During the tour, Senator Boroffice saluted the people of Ondo State for voting enmasse to elect President Muhammadu Buhari at the last general election in spite of heavy monetization of the electoral process by the PDP?. He urged electorates to exercise the virtue of patience as the government drives through its reforms and agenda of change. ?
“From Owo to Okitipupa, Odigbo to Ose, Akoko land to Ondo kingdom, Irele to Idanre, Ifedore to Ilaje, Ese-Odo to Oke-Igbo, there exists an unfluctuating trend of low-spirits people who have lost confidence in the irresponsible modus they are being governed by PDP-led government in Ondo State. Promises have not been kept. Hopes have been dashed and shattered. Most of our people wore faces of agony and ache. As such, it would be wrong to anticipate good governance from the sinking PDP,” he observed.
The Senator decried the unfortunate state of Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC) under the Governor Olusegun Mimiko-led administration, saying it is unacceptable that the hitherto financially buoyant OSOPADEC could no longer fund developmental projects and struggling to pay bursaries to indigent students.
At the well-attended town hall meetings, he assured his hosts of his firm commitment to reverse the trend of widespread neglect of many communities in Ondo State by the Mimiko-led administration.
Senator Boroffice also assured the people of Ondo State of his readiness to deploy his experience and expertise to free and salvage the state from the stranglehold of her exploiters by presenting himself for election in order to showcase selfless leadership and good governance.
