Longevity may be desirable, but it is not the basic component of a worthy life. There is no doubt the fact that Mr. Ayodeji Falae, the former Ondo State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, lived a fulfilled life.
Although, it is a natural phenomenon to grief over the death of a loved one, when the deceased has left his footprints on the sands of time, it becomes a glorious exit.
Deji, the second son of Chief Olu Falae, the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, and a presidential candidate in 1999, died alongside 15 others who accompanied the remains of Dr. Olusegun Agagu, the former governor of Ondo State, from Lagos to Akure for burial. The tragedy which occurred on October 3, 2013, left families and friends in sorrow and shock.
Many hearts were broken over the loss of Falae, whom many described as a practicing and committed Christian, and a great husband and father who had an uncommon ability to relate with people at all levels, with consummate ease, on account of his large-heartedness and sincerity. He lived a purposeful life and distinguished himself in all aspects.
Deji is survived by his wife, Ese, three children, parents, siblings and many friends.
