One of the latest entrants into the golden club, is Abisola ‘Queen’ Muri-Okunola. The beautiful and graceful lady celebrated her 50th birthday anniversary on Sunday, November 21.
Queen, as she is fondly called, is the wife of Hakeem Muri-Okunola aka HMO), the Head of Service of the Lagos State Government. A graduate of the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Queen is an enterprising woman who deals in the sale and supply of stationery materials to schools.
Her marriage to HMO, which was consummated in 2001, is blessed with two children.
To mark her 50th birthday, the usually reserved Queen had a makeup and photoshoot session. Later in the evening, her husband hosted an exclusive dinner for family members, friends and other well-wishers. The event was held at the Muri-Okunolas’ residence in Ikoyi, Lagos State.
HMO is the first son of the late Justice Muritala Aremu Okunola, the revered justice of the Court of Appeal in Lagos State, who died on Thursday, January 29, 2004 in Mecca, where he had gone to perform Hajj.
During his lifetime, Justice Okunola was widely known to be a great Lagosian, legal luminary, incorruptible judge, pious Muslim and above all, a God-fearing Nigerian who believed in a just and egalitarian Nigeria. He lived a life of unstinted service to humanity and to his fatherland. Justice Okunola was one of the very few exemplary citizens that can be regarded as a shinning example of a good man. In 2009, the Lagos State Government unveiled his bust and dedicated a park to him. The park is located at Ozumba Mbadiwe Way, Victoria Island.
Justice Okunola is survived by, his wife Alhaja Ramdalat Fehintola, five children and many grandchildren.
