AKWA IBOM: Akpabio, INEC In Trouble Over Fake Election Results

imageThe Resident Electoral Commissioner in Akwa Ibom State, Mr Austin Okojie is facing serious problems trying to manufacture election results for the state House of Assembly which was conducted simultaneously with the governorship poll on Aril 11. Okojie, in connivance with Godswill Akpabio has quickly manufactured the governorship results, allocating over 90% of the votes cast to Udom Emmanuel. But in trying to cook up the numbers for 26-member House of Assembly, Okojie and his fellow fraudulent Electoral Officers (EOs) are in a mathematical fix as there really was no election ‘and so we cannot share the numbers across board without contradicting ourselves with the already released results for governorship’, says a senior staff in INEC office in Uyo.

Well informed sources have told The Guide newspaper that Mr Okojie have not been able to determine the sharing formula for the ‘manufactured votes’ since no voting took place in most polling units in the first place, and so there were no collations at both the 329 wards and 31 LGAS. ‘We have almost 2,000 polling units, 329 wards and 31 LGAs.

Our problem is allotting these manufactured votes to the 2,000 polling units, 329 wards and 31 LGAs in such a way that we do not fool ourselves’, says a senior official in a sensitive department in INEC office in Uyo, adding ‘we are trying to work backwards from the result of the governorship election, but it is a very difficult task’.
In reacting to the embarrassing situation, Chief Don Etiebet, a PDP chieftain, says in a press conference in Abuja: ‘Why should INEC participate in a fraud, announce false results and expect people not to go to court’.
