A security man, Abubakar Suleiman, employed as a private guard by the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun, was said to have shot a 15-year-old boy dead inside the palace in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State.

When our correspondent visited the palace yesterday, women and children were seen cry profusely; and place chiefs discuss the matter.

What prompted the palace guard identified as Abubakar Suleiman to kill the boy could not be ascertained at the time of filling these reports.

The victim, who was identified as Imole, was rushed to a hospital where he died eventually.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Fimihan Adeoye, confirmed incident and said the palace guard that shot the boy had been attested.

Although eye witnesses said the guard was a policeman posted to the palace, the Commissioner of Police said was not, but a private security guard.
