The South-West edition of the Atiku Abubakar Town Hall Meeting is slated to take place on Saturday (today) in Lagos.
The organisers of the meeting, Atiku Kawai Media Group, disclosed this in a statement signed by its Chairman, Dare Akinniyi.
The organisers disclosed that the meeting, themed: “In Search of a Leader: Nigeria First’, will engage with relevant stakeholders in nation building and the electorate to hear their views on public issues as it affects the entire country.
The organisers noted that the event, under the chairmanship of Governor Seyi Makinde and Bode George as the Father of the Day; will also have Segun Showunmi and Dr. Olajide Adediran as Guest Speakers.
“The Keynote Speaker is Prof. Anthony Kila, a renowned professor of strategy and development. Discussants include Sen. Abiodun Olujimi, Segun Aka-Bashorun, Valentine Ozigbo, Segun ‘Sega’ Awosanya, Dr. Ahmed Adamu and Demola Olarenwaju.
“The ‘National Unity and Prosperity TownHall meetings’, is specifically designed to encourage wide interaction sessions on Unity, National prosperity and failed leadership,” the statement added.
“Contrary to the promises made during the electioneering campaigns by the President and his party, the All Progressives Congress, the prices of commodities and services have skyrocketed while social services delivery kept receding.
“The worst aspect of all these is the level of insecurity in the country today. At no time in the history of this Nigeria had life was so cheap and living was so precarious as they were presently.

“The only panacea to the multi various problems bedevilling the country now is for the federal government to shun incompetence, confront insecurity and get back to work immediately – even though they have just few months to pack their bags and burdens and never to return.
“As a form of participatory democracy, the Atiku Kawai Media Group is holding interactive sessions with Nigerians in the Six geo-political zones via town hall meetings.
“We are going to listen to Nigerians across the states of the federation – asking them what kind of government they would like to have in 2023 and how their next leader should govern their affairs. The Maiden edition was done in Kano, on the 4th of December, 2021,” the statement concluded.
