An helicopter has crashed into a lagoon at the Oworosoki axis of the third mainland bridge in Lagos.

A resident of the area disclosed that the incident happened around 3pm.

Yakubu Dati, spokesman of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), confirmed the report but said he does not have details. “It is true but we are still trying to piece the information together. The appropriate agencies are mobilising on site. So, we are waiting for information,” he said.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) also reported that an helicopter crashed into the Lagoon at the Oworonshoki area of Lagos.

NEMA spokesman, Ibrahim Farinloye, via an SMS, said no distress call was sent to NEMA alert system from the chopper. But he said that rescue agencies are on their way to the scene of the incident.
