With 15 local council results declared in Ogun State, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Maj. General Muhammadu Buhari has extended his lead in the poll with total votes of 248,787 .
His PDP rival, Goodluck Jonathan has 148,393 votes.
Buhari led in 10 out of the 15 local councils.
He won with wide margins in Abeokuta South and Ado Odo, winning 35,878 and 37,385 votes.
Jonathan won 10,062 in Abeokuta South and 15,252 votes in Ado Odo. Buhari also picked Egbado South with 14,169 votes to defeat PDP with 10,491 votes.
In Ijebu North-East, the two candidates returned close votes, with Buhari winning 7,638 votes and Jonathan 6,163 votes. It was a close race too in Odogbolu: Buhari:11,623 and Jonathan 11,405.
Jonathan however won in Ogun Waterside, by fewer than a a thousand votes, 8063 to Buhari’s 7076.
He also won in Ijebu East with 10,045 votes to beat APC with 9,109 votes.
The results of the local government areas still being awaited are;Ikenne,Ijebu North, Ipokia,Yewa North and Ifo.
The Independent National Electoral Commission has also announced the results for the presidential election in the state of Osun, in western Nigeria. Of the 22 councils declared, the APC candidate, Muhammadu Buhari lost just one of councils: Ife East. Results are still being awaited in eight local councils. There are 30 local councils in the state, along with Modakeke Area Office.
