President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, the president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Bishop David Oyedepo have joined leaders and members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in celebrating the General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on his 81st birthday.
In a congratulatory message, President Buhari rejoiced with the great patriarch of faith, who left his academic career to fully pursue service to the Lord.
President Buhari, who also felicitated family, friends and other church leaders within and outside the country, was thankful for Adeboye’s positive influence on people and institutions, with a focus on expanding the kingdom of God on earth.
Recalling the visits and prayers, especially when he was ill and recuperating, President Buhari said he remained grateful for the friendliness and wise counsels of the General Overseer over many years.
The President prayed to God to continue to bless and guide Adeboye and his family.
The vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, who is a pastor in the RCCG, also celebrated Adeboye on social media on behalf of himself and wife, Dolapo.
He said, “Happy Birthday to our dear Daddy Pastor Adeboye. We pray that God Almighty will give you many many more years of service to God and humanity in good health, in peace, in joy and prosperity in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen.”
In his congratulatory message, the president-elect, Tinubu, also felicitated Pastor Adeboye on his 81 birthday anniversary.
He noted that Pastor Adeboye has been a tremendous blessing to Nigeria, Africa, and the world with his ministerial work as an influential preacher and leader.
In his statement, Asiwaju Tinubu revealed with excitement, his personal and family relationship with Pastor Adeboye – from the time he was governor of Lagos State and how the annual Lagos State Thanksgiving Service, started by his administration has continued to be conducted till date by the Redeemed Church leader.
“Today, I rejoice with Pastor E. A. Adeboye on his special day and praise God on his behalf for the privilege to see his 81st birthday in good health and even greater commitment to the work of God as the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God worldwide.
“As a minister of the gospel, Baba Adeboye has been an exemplary model whose teachings and counsel have continued to serve as moderating and stabilising influence in our country.
“On behalf of my family, I wish Baba Adeboye many glorious years in the service of God and the unfailing service to humanity. Happy birthday.”
Similarly, the presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church International, aka Winners Chapel, Dr. David Oyedepo, and his wife, Pastor Faith, also celebrated Adeboye.
In an Instagram message, Oyedepo said the RCCG leader has been an example to the body of Christ. He prayed for his longevity in the work of God.
“Happy birthday to a father, a mentor, a leader, a teacher, a man of generational impact and so much more,” the 68-year-old wrote.
“Daddy, we celebrate God’s grace upon your life and we are grateful for the blessing and example you are to the body of Christ.
“We wish you many many more years as you blossom in the Lord’s vineyard. Live long and prosper sir! Congratulations.”
Oyedepo’s wife posted same message on her Instagram handle, using a photo of Adeboye and his wife, Foluke.
