Celebrating Nigeria’s Most Formidable and Stylish Queen, Ladun Sijuwade At 60

  1. imageOn Thursday, March 17, 2016, revered matriarch of the Nigerian social establishment, Oloori Ladun Sijuwade clocked 60. But rather than celebrate the milestone anniversary in an elaborate manner, Oloori Ladun opted for a low key celebration, as a mark of respect for her beloved husband, Oba Okunade Sijuwade Olubuse 11, the Ooni of Ife (1980-2015), who joined his ancestors last July, at the age of 85.

The ELITES gathered that but for her two children – Aderenle Fayose and Aderemi Sijuwade, who executed a well-planned “coup” in hosting a modest dinner in her honour, Oloori Ladun would have allowed the day to just pass by.

Sources disclosed that the duo of Adenrele and Aderemi had suspected that their mother would be opposed to the hosting of a lavish celebration to mark her 60th birthday, so, they resorted to planning a surprise dinner in her honour.

The birthday dinner, a black tie affair, was held at Angelika’s, the upscale restaurant on Akin Adesola, Victoria Island, Lagos. The restaurant was the perfect backdrop for the intimate dinner with its glass chandeliers and pristine white walls.

Beyond being the most prominent wife of the late Oba Sijuwade, Oloori Ladun remains the most formidable queen of all time. Armed with a solid pedigree, Oloori Ladun is the only daughter of the late billionaire, lawyer, politician and businessman, Chief Adedamola Harold-Sodipo and the late society icon, Chief (Mrs.) Flora Olamide Harold-Sodipo (née Adefope)

Oloori Ladun studied Law, Economics and Politics at the Buckingham University and bagged a second degree in Law from the University College of London. At various times, Oloori Ladun had attended Finishing Schools abroad.

A natural style maven, Oloori Ladun belongs to the class of few women of impeccable style, who collect the Fendi Baguette bags.
