A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State, Senator Ayo Arise, has dumped the party for the All Progressives Congress. The APC was said to have put pressure on Arise for a while to dump the PDP. The deal was however sealed after a meeting between the chieftains of the APC and the senator in Akure, the Ondo State capital, this week. Arise confirmed the development, when he spoke with our reporter on the telephone on Tuesday. He was in the Senate between 2007 and 2011. More details soon.
