Environment Minister’s Media Aide and Former THISDAY Editor, Josephine Lohor, Dies In Abuja

imageThe Federal Ministry of Environment Tuesday announced the death of Miss Josephine Nancin Lohor, the Special Assistant (Media) to the Honourable Minister of Environment, Mrs Laurentia Laraba Mallam.
A statement issued by the ministry and Signed by the Special Adviser to the Minister on Political Affairs, Hon. Jonathan Asake, said Ms Lohor died in Garki Hospital after a brief illness last Thursday, January 8, 2015.
According to the statement, a service of songs would be held in her honour on Thursday, January 15, by 3pm at 2a, Riyom Drive, Opposite Ande Hospital, Jos.
Funeral Service would be held at St Pirans Church, Jos, Plateau State on Friday, January 16, 2015 by 9am.
Final Interment at Panyam, her home town follows thereafter.
Lohor, had a distinguished career in journalism. She worked variously as State House Bureau Chief, Regional editor and later Associate Editor of THISDAY Newspaper.
She served as Special Assistant, Media to former Ministers of the Federal Capital Territory, Adamu Aliero and Aliyu Modibbo Umar. She also worked with the present FCT Minister, Bala Mohammed, in the same capacity.
She graduated from the University of Jos where she read English and later proceeded to the Bayero University, Kano where she obtained a post graduate diploma in Mass Communication.
