Fagade Urges Nigerians To Embrace Peace, Tolerance at Easter

Businessman and chairman of Oyo-Si-Maa-Dun Foundation, Mr. Abisoye Fagade, has said that the surest way Nigeria could emerge from the current challenges of instability is for the citizens to renew their individual commitment to peace and tolerance among themselves.

This admonition was contained in a special Easter message issued by his Personal Assistant (Media), Comrade Kehinde Idowu.

“We celebrate Easter today because Jesus Christ offered to sacrifice Himself for the emancipation of man and this underscores the need for every Christian to think deeply about the reason for the season as it should not be only about merrymaking and junketing.

“Being an epitome of love, courage and passion, Jesus was able to reunite man with his Creator, thereby giving every generation a hope of salvation. In essence, we should take out time to study how the Son of Mary was able to deliver on the divine mission of bringing total liberation to man.

“It is on this premise that we are urging fellow citizens of our dear country to embrace and preach peace at all times in view of the vulnerability of Nigerian society to ethnicity and religious crisis. We need to tolerate ourselves in spite of the fact that we have different ethnic, religious and political affiliations or background.” He stated.

The Ibadan-born politician, who is also a gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo state for the 2023 general election, further assured the citizenry that the current challenges of insecurity and economic instability would soon be a thing of the past.

“Nigeria is God’s own project and this indicates that we should not lose hope about her emergence from the current travails in terms of economic hardship, social unrest and political instability. There is no pretence about what we are facing as a people but we must remain hopeful that all will soon be well even as we continue to pray for our leaders at all levels.” Fagade added.
