There are strong indications that former FCT minister under President Jonathan may be facing some challenges since the anti-corruption crusade of President Buhari finally came to force.
This followed unconfirmed source that the former Minister is said to have refunded the sum of N7 billion to the Buhari administration, in a bid to escape from the president’s sledge hammer against corrupt people.
It was gathered that the sum was part of N15 billion contracts, allegedly awarded during former President Goodluck Jonathan’s tenure but, which were not executed the contract after collecting some percentage.
This development, it was gathered, was done to clear the ex-minister against any move by Buhari towards arresting him as corrupt officials in the country are being quizzed.
It will be recalled that Buhari had promised to treat those who return looted funds to government coffer with mercy as he promised to give them soft landing if they return their loot to the country’s treasury.
