Famous female politician, Honourable Folake Olunloyo-Oshinowo is presently in a joyful mood. The beautiful politician, who was enlisted into the Iyalode of Ibadan lineage, has added another feather to her cap. She has been conferred with the title of Aare Egbe Omo Iyalode of Ibadanland by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Samuel Odulana Odugade. The ceremony was performed earlier today, Saturday, January 31, 2015, at the Olubadan’s palace. This new title is a signifier of a promotion within the rank of the highly revered Iyalode of Ibadanland lineage, in which the hardworking politician was enlisted into six years ago.
After Olunloyo-Oshinowo was decorated with the paraphernalia of her new traditional title, she led her family and friends to the church for the thanksgiving service. This was then followed by a modest reception. Meanwhile, the grand party is being planned by Folake’s loving husband, Dr. Tunde Oshinowo(Teddy Shine). The party comes up later in the year.
Olunloyo-Oshinowo is one of the most prominent female politicians in Nigeria. She was a member of the House of Representatives in Abuja, where she represented Ibadan South West/ North West Constituency during the 2007/2011 political dispensation. A very formidable politician, Olunloyo-Oshinowo is currently, a Special Assistant to Honourable Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, the Speaker of the HoR. She is also contesting to go back to the Lower House in the next dispensation.
