The Network for Justice and Social Stability (NETJUS) has commended the choice of Alhaji Yahaya Bello as substitute for late Prince Abubakar Audu in the Kogi State supplementary election coming up next Saturday.
A statement jointly signed by the North Central Coordinator, Mallam Isah Itopa Idris and the Kogi State Coordinator, Hon. Muhammed Siraj, yesterday in Abuja said the decision of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee (NWC) to pick Bello who came second in the gubernatorial party primary was the best option with the relevant laws.
The organisation noted that the present political situation in Kogi State is a clear manifestation of natural justice and stressed the need for all parties involved and political actors in the state to consider peaceful co-existence and stability of the state above individual ambition.
“Since the creation of Kogi State 24 years ago, the three senatorial districts have remained partners in political struggles we wonder why the current political development which is beyond human comprehension should be misconstrued,” the statement said.
The organisation emphasized the need for the people of the state to see the current political development as an opportunity to further strengthen the mutual co-existence and the confidence that exist among the people since the creation of the state.
