A 30-year-old Nigerian woman, Ese Eghagha has died from injuries sustained after allegedly being beaten by her husband in Malaysia.

Describing the deceased, her friend, Bisi Olabode tweeted “She was only 30 years old. Full of life. Loved to laugh. Had a big heart. But married a beast. Now she’s gone.”

The deceased who graduated from the University of Port Harcourt got married after her youth service in November 2013 to a Malaysia-based husband who hails from Edo State. The relationship reportedly grew violent with the man allegedly locking her up in their home in Malaysia for months.

It was also gathered that the man seized her passport and phones.

A neighbour was said to have called the police while the beating that turned fatal went on and by the time the police arrived, it was rather late as she gave up on her way to the hospital.

The man has since been arrested by the police.
