Ondo: Ile Oluji Monarch Joins Ancestors

imageThe paramount ruler of Ile Oluji, the headquarters of Ile Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, Oba Steven Suulade Adedugbe on Saturday joined his ancestors

The monarch, who was a first class Oba, according to a report, died in his palace at the age of 77 after reigning for 26 years on the throne of his forefathers.

The demise of the monarch was announced by the Odole of Ile Oluji, Chief Fagoroye, after hunters had fired seven traditional gunshots within the palace.

Fagoroye said full traditional rites to commemorate the death of the monarch had commenced with the killing of goats and chickens on streets by youths.

Speaking on the passing away of the monarch, the caretaker Chairman of Ile Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government, chief Kole Akinbolarin described the reign of the late monarch as eventful for the town and the state.
