Yesterday, at the inter-religious farewell service held in honour of the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, Olubuse 11, Babajide Omoworare, the Senator representing Ife/Ijesa Senatorial District, was on hand to play host to the vice-president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo and other numerous dignitaries, who attended the event.
Quite interestingly too, the ties between Omoworare and Osinbajo goes beyond politics. The two are in-laws. Omoworare’s first cousin, Barrister Adedamola Aderemi is married to Kemi Oyediran, the first cousin of Osibanjo’s wife, Dolapo (née Soyode)
Unknown to most people, Senator Omoworare is a prince of Ile-Ife. His mother, Princess Teniade Areoye Omoworare, who died in 2013, was the daughter of the late Oba Adesoji Tadenikawo Aderemi, the Ooni of Ife (1930-1980).
