IWD 2025: You’re The Bedrock of Our Nation – Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has celebrated the resilience, brilliance, and indispensable contributions of Nigerian women in a personal message to mark the 2025 International Women’s Day.

He described Nigerian women as the bedrock of the nation, driving progress from homes to farms, boardrooms, and communities.

He reaffirmed commitment to advancing the rights and opportunities of Nigerian women, pledging to dismantle systemic obstacles, expand access to finance, and ensure equitable participation in governance, agriculture, and all sectors of the economy.

The President acknowledged the vital role women play in the nation’s progress and emphasised the need to break barriers that hinder their full potential.

“Our administration is committed in our Renewed Hope pledge to dismantle obstacles, expand access to finance, and ensure equitable opportunities in governance, agriculture, and every sector,” Tinubu stated.

Reflecting on the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration, which set a global agenda for gender equality, the President noted that while progress has been made, many Nigerian women still face significant challenges. 

He called for collective action to bridge the gaps and empower women across all spheres of society.

“To our mothers, daughters, sisters—your strength fuels Nigeria’s future,” Tinubu said. “Together, we rise!”

The President lauded Nigerian women for their resilience, brilliance, and contributions to the country, from homes and farms to boardrooms and communities. 

He underscored their indispensable role in driving national development and pledged that his government would continue to implement policies that foster inclusion and economic empowerment.
