There are strong indications that the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai would win Saturday’s governorship elections, following the decision of nine governorship candidates to step down for him.
This is just as 21 political parties have thrown their weight behind the APC’s gubernatorial candidate.
The governorship candidates who announced their stepping down in the race included Dr. Sani Abdulkadir of NNPP, Alh. Mohammed Ribadu of APA, Alh. Garba Mohammed Suleiman of ACPN, Hon. Isa Adamu Abdullahi of NCP, Alh. Alh. Nayaya Mohammed Lawal of PDC and Alh. Bala Mohammed Yunusa of ADC.
Others includes Alh. Lawal Yusuf of UPN, Arch. Katie Ahmed Jibril of PPA and Alh. Mohammed Sani Ahmed of PPN.
The nine candidates who spoke at a press conference in Kaduna, said their decision to step down for El-Rufai was inform by the former minister’s determination to make Kaduna great.
They said that after consultations with their supporters and members of the National Executive Council of their various parties, they unanimously resolved to support the APC governorship candidate, Mal. Nasir El-Rufai in today’s elections.
