Budding Make-up Artists and photographers who live or come from Kwara State are gearing up for a new competition, IrepKwara, which seeks to promote the culture, sights and beauty of the State of Harmony, Kwara. According to EMRMarketing, organisers of the competition, IrepKwara seeks to promote creativity in young people who are indigenes or residents of Kwara State. It is also designed to expose the culture, architecture and beauty of Kwara to Kwarans in the diaspora and non-Kwarans as well. Prizes to be won include an iPhone 6, a DSLR Canon Digital Camera, professional training, as well as an Ipad.
According to EMR, the competition is linked to Instagram and Twitter social media platforms due to the emphasis on youths and the use of photography.
Interested participants are to send entries which aptly tell their own story of Kwara, whether they be make-up artists, or photographers. Make-up artists are required to send 2 looks of makeup depicting Kwara Cultural Bride, while professional photographers will have to send a minimum of 6 pictures of cultural and indigenous locations in Kwara State.
Furthermore, participants are to load their entries on their personal Instagram page, while tagging it with the handle @irepkwara #irepkwara, get friends to like and comment on their entries.
Winners of the competition will be selected from the entries that garner the highest number of likes and comments, by celebrity make-up artists and professional photographers. Said EMR: this promises to be an interesting competition, as it is a first that seeks to promote the cultural diversities and beautiful sights of the state.
