Mike Tyson has led the criticism of Floyd Mayweather’s functional victory over Manny Pacquiao, labelling the fight ‘underwhelming’.
The always-outspoken former heavyweight champion of the world took to Twitter following the fight to tweet his disappointment for the long-awaited fight.
“We waited 5 years for the that… #underwhelmed”, he posted to the social network.
Mayweather won the fight in a unanimous points decision, with the judges scoring the fight 118-110, 116-112 and 116-112 in favour of the American.
Before the fight Tyson had back Pacquiao to upset the odds.
“I just like Manny,” he had said.
“Not necessarily because he throws a lot of punches but because he’s very elusive and might be hard to hit.”
Tyson had also criticised Mayweather for his assertion that he is greater than Muhammad Ali, describing his countryman as “a small, scared man”.
“He’s very delusional,” Tyson said in an interview on Undisputed Champion Network.
“If he was anywhere near that realm of ‘greater than Ali,’ he’d be able to take his kids to school by himself. He’s a very small, scared man.”
