Foremost Nollywood actress, Binta Ayo Mogaji and actor Bayo Bankole fondly known as Boy Alinco are top headliners of Dotun Taylor’s new movie titled Eko Wenjele (This Is Lagos) The movie which is a parting gift to the Lagos state Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola for all his accomplishments in the transformation of Lagos to a megacity tells a story played by Nadine Nnenim whose situation changed from grass to grace. Shot in Lagos and Ogun state and directed by Dotun Taylor, Eko Wenjele features other stars like Yemi Shodimu, Aisha Abimbola, Saheed Balogun, Tunde Owokoniran, Peter Rufai, Sunday Omobolanle (Aluwe) and a host of others.
The film Eko Wenjele has specifically been made as a comic satire to amplify the successes of Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola in Lagos state. Picking the Oshodi rehabilitation as a plot, Abibatu Oniresis transformation from rags to riches is a patterned pointer, that explains and artistically captures the new Nigerian direction, as spearheaded by Governor Fashola.
Dotun Taylor who is also a veteran voice over artiste, MC and Radio Presenter, says Eko Wenjele is a journey. According to him, “I have watched Lagos grow from dirty state to beautiful and a blue print which others emulate, just in eight years. This has been made possible by a visionary leader who understood what it meant to take full responsibility of an institution called Lagos. We have had failed government especially at the federal level whom had come and gone without any development. I am of the opinion that whatsoever performs should be honoured while he/she is still alive. This is the concept behind Eko Wenjele. My company alongside my humble self and SUREBET 247 company who is a partner will be presenting a gift (the movie) to a deserving Governor, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola for his achievements and this gift (movie) will serve as an archival material which everybody will have access to.”
Eko Wenjele will premiere in the month of MAY, 2015 where the movie will be handed to the performer extraordinaire, Mr. Babatunde Fashola as a befitting gift.
