NFF Budgets N5.8bn For 2016 Competitions

The Nigeria Football Federation is to expend N5, 862,102,009 for its sporting activities in 2016, the body disclosed yesterday in Abuja.

According to the federation’s Audited Accounts 2014 and Annual Reports 2015, the sporting activities included all the international engagements of the national teams, 2016 Federation Cup for men and women, coaches’ salaries, U-13/U-15 Youth Championship and the 2016 Annual General Assembly.
The body is to spend the sum of N1,483,717,240 for the participation of the home based eagles in the Africa Cup of Nations Championship in Rwanda out of which N278,409,650 is earmarked for overseas training of the team.
The U-20 Women World Cup in Papua Guinea will consume N676,604,500, the Rio Olympics games N368,967,000, the Beach Soccer competitions N471,170,500, Africa U-20 Male Youth championship N620,659,800, U-17 Women World Cup in Jordan N651, 326, 647 and the Africa Women Championship in Cameroun N919,989,965.
The salaries of the coaches would also gulp N286,200,000, the 2016 Federation cup for Men and Women will take N220,005,000, the U-13/U-15 Youth Championship takes N115,000,000 and the 2016 Annual General Assembly will be hosted with N53,794,510.
The federation that has a budget proposal of N7,276,077,393 for the year is expected to rake in the sum of N792,000,000 from local sponsors while FIFA would chip in 56,250,000 dollars, CAF grant 22,500,000 dollars and local competitions N34,500,000.
The federation would also spend N183,979,875 for Capital expenditure while the Recurrent is N324,795,509.
