The presidential villa, also known as Aso Rock villa, is currently undergoing renovation – and this may be the reason President Muhammadu Buhari is yet to move in nearly two weeks after his inauguration.

The state house released photos of the renovation in Thursday morning without much information but this may have been to douse speculations that Buhari’s delay was because of “spiritual cleansing”.

The villa entrance under renovation The president has been operating from his residence along Aso Drive and the Defence House leading to speculations that he had imported Islamic clerics from Senegal to “cleanse” the place that serves as office and residence to Nigerian leaders.

This has been denied by his media office. The cost of the renovation and how long this will take are yet to be made public.
