You The governors of Oyo, Lagos and Osun and other prominent personalities paid their last respect to the matriarch of the Awolowo family, Late Hannah Idowu Dideolu Awolowo at her lying-in-state at Tribune House in Ibadan, Oyo state capital.

Governor Abiola Ajimobi and his wife who were the hosts, were joined by Governor Rauf Aregbesola, Akinwunmi Ambode and their wives to mourn the deceased.

The first leg of the lying-in-state ceremony was held in Lagos on Sunday, November 15 at the Awolowo family residence in Park Lane, Apapa

 

Mama HID Awolowo passed on at the age of 99 on Saturday, September 19, just few weeks shy of her 100th birthday celebration.

From November 17-24, there will be another lying-in-state at Ikenne, the home town of the Awolowos. Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) and Pastor Tunde Bakare of Latter Rain Bible Church will lead other Christian spiritual leaders to participate in the two-week burial programme of the late matriarch of the Yoruba nation.
