Popular Nollywoood Actor and producer Femi Branch was recently charged to Ikeja Magistrate court for issuing a dud cheque of N1.5m to De Santo Hotel, situated in Ikeja, Lagos.

According to a sources, the popular Yoruba actor issued the cheque to the hotel management as payment for accommodation of many months.

It was gathered that when the management of De Santo Hotel realized that Branch had issued a dud cheque, it lodged a complaint with the police. The popular actor was arrested and promptly charged to Ikeja Magistrate Court on 20 November, 2015, where he was granted bail on self-recognition and the bail amount was N500,000.

However, the court ruled that Branch be remanded in Kirikiri prison pending when he fulfilled his bail conditions.

sources disclosed that it took some weeks before Branch could fulfill his bail conditions. He made it just in just in time for the Best of Nollywood Award, which took place in Aknn.xmure, Ondo State, where he acted as a compere.
