…Buhari Gets Accredited, Commends INEC

The president stood for more than 30 minutes surrendering available seats to his wife and mother as about four card readers refused to recognise his PVC.

After all efforts failed, the Jonathans were accredited manually, a great slight on the whole electoral process.

He encouraged Nigerians to be patient with the process, insisting that the election will be free and fair.

“I encourage Nigerians to be patient, even if card readers have issues. Don’t instigate violence,” he said.

Buhari Gets Accredited, Commends INEC

APC Presidential Candidate, Muhammadu Buhari has been duly accredited at Sarkin Yara Polling unit at Daura, Katsina state.

Speaking shortly after accreditation, Buhari hailed INEC for the level of readiness exhibited in today’s election.

“Well I like the integrity of the system; I am very pleased about it. That means that if people are allowed to vote rigging will be virtually impossible,” he said.

On the performance of INEC so far, Buhari said ” I think INEC has done very well and I have said it your colleagues elsewhere that from the their presentations at the Council of States which I happen to be a member this time around, INEC has done extremely well,” he said.

Buhari was accredited in about five minutes, flanked by his wife Aisha Buhari. They both left after accreditation, expected to be back by 1pm to cast their votes.
