Protesters Storm Court of Appeal For Kashamu

A group of politicians from Ogun State yesterday stormed the premises of the Court of Appeal, Ibadan, pleading with members of the Appeal Tribunal for the Ogun East Senatorial election to imbibe fairness and objectivity in the hearing of the appeal brought before the tribunal by the PDP Senator representing the district at the National Assembly, Buruju Kashamu.

Senator Kashamu had filed an appeal against the verdict of the Ogun State Elections Petition Tribunal, ordering the re-run of election in 91out of 110 polling units in the senatorial district.
The protesting politicians displayed assorted placards with inscriptions such as “We want Justice”.
But they were restricted to the outside the court premises by security operatives in the court.
This happened just as the new Appeal panel for the trial of Kashamu’s case resumed sitting.
The Appeal panel at its sitting also served notice of its intention to be fair to all parties in the case, following the conclusion of briefs by counsels to all the parties in the Appeal case.
Chairman of the three member appeal panel, Hon. Justice Mitshelia A.G told all parties concerned in the case that the judgment day on the appeal would be communicated to them.
