Rotary Club of Maryland, Ikeja, Lagos has rewarded two officers of the Lagos Traffic Management Authority and a Police Traffic officer for diligence and professionalism in the discharge of their duties as well as empowerment tools to 5 artisans selected from the club’s communities.
The lucky officers are Diana Okwudi, the traffic policewoman at Maryland who is a second-time winner of the award and Ipinyomi Adebayo, a LASTMA official also attached to Maryland.
The third recipient, Oluwadamilola Onabanjo is located at Anthony traffic control point and is noted for her ‘dancing steps’ while discharging her duties.
In his address at the presentation which took place at Anthony and Maryland junction and roundabout respectively, the President Rotary Club of Maryland, Rtn. Bamidele Onalaja urged the recipients to keep up the good attitude to work which earned them recognition saying the club picked the traffic officers in solidarity with the Lagos State government’s efforts to provide solutions to traffic problems which is a major issue in the state.
Onalaja also called on artisans who got economic empowerment tools from the club to make good use of them and serve humanity as well.
Recipients of the economic empowerment tools were Bukola Ifadumehinsi and Ogunsanya Boluwatife (Sewing Machines) Adijat Yekini and Jumoke Lawal (Grinding Machine) while Oyedokun Racheal got a hairdryer to kick start her hairdressing business.
