The Mayweather-Pacquiao belt has 3,017 emeralds, 165 hand-painted flags, and is worth a million bucks
Everything about the WBC belt for the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight is over the top. WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman let For the Win get an exclusive look at the ridiculously heavy accessory for a while yesterday. It’s got 3,017 emeralds studded in the front, but the artisans who made it used more than 3,500 because they kept breaking them. It contains 800 grams of gold. The leather is the same stuff used in Ferraris. There are 165 flags on it, and they’re hand-painted. Oh, and before they made this one, the artisans who build the belt took two weeks to make a practice belt.
