Tinubu Mourns HO Davies’ Widow, Says, ‘She Was An Illustrious Daughter of Our Nation’

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his condolences to the family of Chief Hezekiah Oladipo Davies over the passing of their matriarch, Mrs. Augusta Olujoke Davies at 90. 

The President described her as an illustrious daughter of the nation who lived a full life dedicated to her family and community.

“President Bola Tinubu condoles with the family of the late Chief Hezekiah Oladipo Davies Q.C. over the passing of their matriarch, Mrs. Augusta Olujoke Davies.

“Mrs. Davies, who passed away at the venerable age of 90, was the wife of Chief H.O. Davies, one of Nigeria’s founding fathers; a lawyer, journalist, and former Minister of Industries.

“The President describes the departed matriarch, who is the mother of Mrs. Olufunmilayo Goka, former Deputy Managing Director of Agip Oil, as an illustrious daughter of the nation who lived a full life dedicated to the Almighty and to the service of her family and community.

“President Tinubu commiserates with the entire Davies family, as well as the Oluwole family and the Ogunmade ruling house of Lagos.

“The President prays for the repose of the soul of the deceased, while consoling her family to take solace in her enduring legacies”, the statement said.
