…Halle Berry Has a New Hair Color—See Her as a Blond
As a lead-up to Friday’s release of the new Bond flick SPECTRE, an event in L.A. yesterday honored black actresses who have played Bond girls over the years—including Berry, who played Jinx in 2002’s Die Another Day (the one that produced her iconic orange bikini moment). While Berry actually had a sexy pixie for that role, she went with another hot-girl hair tactic for the event: big, blond, and oh so Bond.
This was the official red-carpet debut of a much blonder Berry. She’s incorporated golden highlights for a while, but around mid-September, she went much lighter, and last night marked the first time we’ve seen her pose in great light with the new hue. Pale highlights blend with caramel and brunette to give her shoulder-grazing layers multicolor depth and texture, while bright sections in the front pop to make this feel like one of her blondest moments of all time. While the overall look is very 2015, we can’t ignore the Farrah Fawcett vibes, either. (Perhaps an intentional nod to the late actress who had one of the other most iconic swimsuit moments of all time?)
Meanwhile, although we’ve grown to dread the term “breakover,” we do have to note that this was Berry’s first time on a red carpet since news of her divorce from Olivier Martinez was announced—and we would never try to deny the positive energy and sense of renewal that a new and fabulous hairstyle can bring. Great choice, H.B.!
