Our attention has been draw to the news of a purported endorsement of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC in the forthcoming Bayelsa Governorship election, Mr. Timipre Sylva by the , Izon Ebe Global Policy Network, IGPN.

The purported endorsement in a release signed by one Chief Olu Dennis is believed to be one of the numerous deceits of the Timipre Sylva’s campaign organisation, because at no time did our organisation contemplate giving any support to Sylva who is a former governor of the State.

May we use this medium to remind Nigerians that Bayelsa being the fortress of the Ijaw nation cannot be allowed to fall back to rulership of regimes like we had in the days of Chief Timipre Sylva. Today, we are proud of the peace and tranquility being enjoyed by our people under the current administration in the state and there have no reason to rally whatever manner of support for the return of a man, who till date is unable to render an account of his stewardship of the five years he was in the saddle.

We enjoin Nigerians, particularly the people of Bayelsa, to disregard the news of the purported endorsement and see it as a mere figment of the imagination of the author of the statement and his sponsors who are desperate to hijack political power again in our dear state.

The support of our organisation remains as earlier given to the Restoration administration of Honorable Henry Seriake Dickson and we encourage our people to remain steadfast and peace as they go to the poll on Saturday December on Saturday December 5.
