Akala Promises To Promote Agro-economy In Oyo State

imageThe Labour Party candidate in the forthcoming governorship election in Oyo State Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala says if elected, he would promote agro-economy to increase Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) in the state.
The former governor of the state made this known in a press release signed by the Team Akala’s Director of Public Affairs, of Labour Party Campaign Organisation Oludare Ogunlana.
According to Ogunlana, the former governor had already concluded arrangement to generate accruable income to the purse of the state through the development of the agricultural sector of the state.
“With the current economic situation in the country with fall of oil price in world market, the only solid alternative to the survival of Nigerian economy is to really develop the agricultural sector.
“I can boldly say that I have a blueprint that will promote agro economy in Oyo State. The natural and human resources are there.
The Agricultural sector in over 15 local governments in the state have not been accessed to this level.
“With this, I promise to generate revenue to increase the level of infrastructure provision, create feasible employment without bringing any hardship on the masses.
“My administration won’t depend on oil money or federal allocation to run the state. In addition, there are untapped sources to generate revenue using the experience of the professionals in the state civil service.
“My relationship with the civil servants always gives me pleasure and assurance that they remain a veritable tool in revenue generation in the state,”Akala stated.
Ogunlana also noted that Otunba Alao-Akala remains the best candidate to move the state forward in all sectors among several contestants in the February election.
