A 75-year-old Ile-Ife High Chief, in Osun State, Pa Moses Elutilo, the Akannare of Ile-Ido has been killed by unknown assailants.

It was gathered that Chief Moses was invited to a special meeting at Atagilere plank hall on Ondo road, Ile-Ife and he went to the venue as scheduled without suspecting that it was a trap.

It was learnt that immediately Chief Moses arrived at the supposed venue of the meeting, some men who covered their faces with mask attacked him.
The aged man was knocked out as he was hit on the head severely until he became unconscious and the assailants left when he passed out.
When some residents of the area saw the remains of Chief Moses where he was abandoned by his killers, they rushed him to a nearby hospital where the doctor confirmed that the man was dead.
The Police Public Relations Officer for Osun Police Command, DSP Folasade Odoro confirmed the incident. She said the matter is under investigation and that autopsy would be carried out on the corps.
Odoro assured that circumstances surrounding the murder of the deceased would be unravelled.
