Nollywood Director Kenneth Uphopho Presents “Shattered”

imageShattered is set in the aftermath of betrayal and deception in an “unusual” family. Folake will do anything to protect her daughter Loveth from the harsh realities of life. At the loss of her breadwinner and husband, she solicits the help of her friend Nneka to get a job at her Husband’s business. The relationship between both families blossoms and becomes even more connected but one day Nneka and her family will extend their love too far…

The Performing Arts Workshop and Studios (PAWS) and Kenneth Uphopho, the director of the just concluded critically acclaimed “London Life Lagos Living” and “Saro the Musical 1&2” ; a theatre production outfit, with outstanding performances such as Camwood on the Leaves, The Wives, Rubiewe and Death and the King’s Horseman, amongst others brings to stage one of Bode Asiyanbi’s powerful dramatic statement titled “Shattered” every Sunday at Terrakulture.
Artistic Director of the production Kenneth Uphopho speaking on the project says” Shattered brings to the fore our fears as a people and the many questions that we hope to be answered in our day to day lives. We all have these stories but in varying degrees and we are excited to be the ones sharing ours through this medium”

“Shattered” is Bode Asiyanbi’s BBC award winning play which first premiered on stage at the British Council Lagos Theatre Festival in 2013. It was originally written for the Radio and was adapted for the stage by Kenneth Uphopho. The 2013 presentation of the play at the Presidential suite of Eko Hotel was commended for the best Creative use of space for that edition of the Lagos theatre festival by the audience.
Shattered is a captivating story of deception, betrayal and pain starring Nigerian Theatre ‘s finest thespians; Patrick Diabuah, Bola Haastrup, Ijeoma Aniebo, Bunmi Sogade, , KelvinMary Ndukwe, Goodness Emmanuel and Martins Iwuagwu .
