NPA Set To Recruit Professionals

The management of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), has expressed its willingness to embark on massive recruitment of professionals to beef up its workforce.
NPA Managing Director, Hadiza Bala Usman, who made this disclosure in Warri, Delta State, while addressing workers revealed that the move was also meant to boost service delivery to stakeholders.

The MD who was allaying workers’ fears on rumoured retrenchment, stated that the authority was not planning to retrench any of it’s worker, rather it was, planning a recruitment of core professionals in a bid to ensure enhanced service delivery.
She, however tasked the workers to come up with vibrant ideas capable of enabling management to both improve on service delivery, as well as significantly boost revenue generation.
She said: “Management has no intention to retrench. We are going to recruite workers, but we will be recruiting professionals.”
Hadiza Usman stressed that the workers must work harder and assured them of consistent management protection. She said the NPA was blessed with a focused and determined management, backed by a credible and totally committed board of directors.
She pointed out that while the management might not support the idea of settling individuals, in the name of Corporate Social Responsibility, it would nevertheless favour the idea of supporting ingenious ideas which might benefit the community.
“I want to assure you that you have a listening management and a credible board to support your aspirations.
“Things would positively change, both in terms of morale and service delivery,” she said.
