The victory of Akinwunmi Ambode, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), threw the entire household of the Oba of Lagos, HRH, Oba Rilwan Aremu Akiolu, into jubilation. To express his feeling of joy, the Olowo Eko, as Oba Akiolu is fondly called by Lagosians, had on Sunday. April 12, slaughtered a cow to fete visitors, well-wishers and residents of the Iga Iduganran area.

Also, Oba Akiolu organized a prayer session for the peaceful coexistence of Nigeria in general and Lagos in particular.

On Monday, April 13, Ambode, in the company of his wife, Bolanle, paid a courtesy visit to Oba Akiolu at his Iga Iduganran palace, to express his gratitude for the monarch for his unflinching support and encouragement.

It will be recalled that Oba Akiolu had publicly endorsed Ambode’s candidacy claiming to have handpicked him to be the next governor of Lagos state.
