Ramadan is a time of prayer, fasting, giving and sharing. Little wonder the wife of the President Mrs. Aisha Buhari decides to break fast last Friday with an unprecedented crowd in attendance. It was a gathering aimed at inclusion of those who hitherto never get the opportunity to experience the breaking of fast with love. Speaking at the event, the Wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Buhari said “I am delighted to be breaking fast and dining with you. We are all gathered here to show love to each because the pillar of Ramadan includes Love and forgiveness. As we all know, our nation is going through a transition but I implore you to support the new government and I want to assure you all that my husband will do everything possible to improve the security and well-being of all Nigerians”. She thanked everyone including the religious leaders, wives of governors; Rivers State, Imo State, Nassarawa State and all the other dignitaries present.
The wife of the Imo State Governor, Mrs Ndidi Okorocha was enamored and continuously thanked Mrs Buhari for her display of love. Mrs Okorocha confessed that this would be the first time ever such an event would be put together specially for those who have forgotten how to smile.
In the closing remarks, a representative of the Advocacy for Women with Disability also thanked the Wife of the President and pleaded with the National Assembly to speed up the process of signing the disability bill into law.
