The President of Nigeria Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, in his usual humanitarian services and philanthropic gestures, last weekend approved the sum of twenty five million naira (N25,000,000) which was distributed for low income muslim faithful across the sixteen Local Government Areas of Kwara State between Tuesday June 30 and Thursday July 2 2015 at Saraki’s Country Home, GRA Ilorin.
The disbursement of cash gift, which was anchored by a five man committee chaired by the former Commissioner for Energy, Alhaji Musa Abdullahi was meant to cushion the effect of the nation’s economic downturn on individuals especially during the fasting period.
The committee chairman, Musa Abdullahi, made it known that the cash gift was in addition to the food items such as rice, yam flour, beans, milk, sugar etc to the thousands of party faithful and other muslim stalwarts across the state by Saraki’s Constituency Office just about last week. He also disclosed that beneficiaries of the cash include islamic scholars, traditional rulers, elderly men and women, less-privileged and low income youths across the state.
The former Commissioner, yesterday during the closure of the disbursement, challenged the wealthy and well meaning Kwarans to toe the path set by Sen. Saraki by assisting the needy in the society, while he prayed God to continue to enrich and guide the Senate President towards his philanthropic gestures as well as new national assignment.
