The Palace of His Royal Majesty, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi of Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom, has strongly condemned what it described as a “campaign of calumny” against the person and throne of the Elegushi of Ikate.
The Palace expressed deep concern over various social media posts that aim to tarnish the image of His Royal Majesty and bring the throne into disrepute.
The statement highlighted that despite ongoing investigations by the police into the death of Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, individuals have been spreading baseless allegations linking the palace and Oba Saheed Elegushi to the tragic incident. The Palace emphasized that there was no known relationship between the palace and the late singer or his family.
The Palace revealed that legal action is being taken both in Nigeria and overseas, with the assistance of law enforcement agencies, to invite these individuals to substantiate their claims against the throne and the person of Oba Saheed Elegushi. The statement made it clear that no one would be victimized or harassed but urged those making false allegations to come forward and assist in the investigation.
The press release expressed gratitude to those who have shown solidarity and support during this challenging time and assured that the law would take its course in addressing the cyber attacks and bullying directed at the palace and traditional ruler.
The statement, signed by Temitope Oyefeso, Special Assistant, Public Affairs to HRM, serves as a firm response to the unwarranted attacks on the reputation and integrity of His Royal Majesty and the Elegushi throne.
