Earlier this week, Aminat Ruth Sijuwade, was sworn in as the new Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Kaduna State, by Governor Nasir El-Rufai.
Aminat (née Dyeris), is the beautiful wife of Prince Adetokunbo Sijuwade, the first son of the late Oba Okunade Sijuwade, the Ooni of Ife.
The ELITES gathered that her swearing-in ceremony, which was scheduled to hold two weeks ago, was suspended, after her father-in-law passed on last July.
Born in 1968, Amina Sijuwade, holds a degree in English Studies from the then University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife), and a Law degree from the University of Buckingham, the United Kingdom.
She was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1995.
Until her appointment, Aminat, the daughter of Brig-Gen. Adamu Dyeris (retd), worked at the Northern Numero Resources Limited, an Abuja-based mining and metal company. She is also an Executive Director of Business Development and Investment Ltd, an organisational development company based in Abuja.
A native of Jema’a in Kaduna State, Amina Sijuwade founded Abrahams Seed Foundation, a non profit organization dedicated to assisting orphanages in the FCT in the specific areas of Health and Education in 2009. The foundation’s contributions have been recognised by the Federal Capital Territory Administration as “laudable”.
Amina and Tokunbo, who got married in 1996, are blessed with two children- Dedun and Dejunwon. Although, their marriage, like most other union, was fraught by many challenges during its early stage, the couple has since re-ignited their flame of love, and has resolved to stick to each other come what.
